Cedric The Entertainer to Host 13th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic Benefiting Charities

Actor, comedian, and philanthropist Cedric the Entertainer will host the 13th Annual Cedric the Entertainer Celebrity Golf Classic this weekend (August 2nd-3rd), bringing together athletes, entertainers, and community leaders to raise money for youth programs and health initiatives.

The annual fundraiser, presented by Lexus, will benefit the Kyles Family Foundation, the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo, and the Rosetta Boyce Kyles Health Pavilion at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis.

A VIP Pairings Party is scheduled for Sunday at Tarantula Hill Brewing Co. in Thousand Oaks, followed by the celebrity golf tournament Monday at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo.

The event supports nonprofit organizations that provide education, mentorship, health awareness, and family services for young people. Organizers said Cedric the Entertainer has made youth empowerment a central focus of the tournament since its inception, using the event to raise funds and awareness for community programs.

The celebrity field features some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment, including actor Anthony Anderson; comedian D.L. Hughley; actor and comedian Marlon Wayans; singers Smokey Robinson, Johnny Gill, Jeffrey Osborne, Mike Phillips, and Stephen Bishop; broadcaster Roland Martin; and actors Dennis Haysbert, Dondré Whitfield, Flex Alexander, Brooklyn McClinn, and Michael Irby.

Sports stars participating include Basketball Hall of Famer Byron Scott; former NBA players Derek Fisher, Matt Barnes, Norm Nixon, and Olden Polynice; former NFL standouts Christian Okoye, Eric Dickerson, Mark Ingram, and Willie Buchanan; former major league players David Justice, Gary Sheffield, Gary Matthews, Kenny Lofton, Jerry Royster, Royce Clayton, Vince Coleman, and Ozzie Smith; boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard; golf influencer Troy Mullins; and ESPN anchor Stan Verrett.

Also scheduled to participate are Amber Kuykendall, Brad Jordan, Chip Shearin, Mike Woodson, Chris Hale, Emilio Rivera, Kathleen Bradley, LouLou Gonzalez, Nikki Blades, Pete Shaw, Sara Camarena, and Big Percy.

Lexus serves as the presenting sponsor of the tournament. Platinum sponsors include IAG and Buzz Oats. Additional sponsors are AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Lido Advisors, Aloha Freight, Del Shaw Moonves Tanaka Finkelstein Lezcano Bobb & Dang, Westlake Village Inn, Weintraub Family Foundation, Galway Holdings, and Mills Legal.

The Kyles Family Foundation focuses on educational empowerment and hygienic health awareness for young people in the Los Angeles area, working with community organizations to promote self-esteem, personal development, and healthy habits.

The Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo provides after-school programs and youth development services for children ages 6 to 18. The organization offers affordable membership and scholarships to help ensure access for families regardless of financial circumstances.

The Rosetta Boyce Kyles Health Pavilion traces its origins to Cedric the Entertainer and his sister, Sharita Kyles Wilson, who were inspired by the care their late mother received while undergoing cancer treatment at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital. In 2015, the Kyles Family Foundation made a $25,000 lead gift that helped launch fundraising efforts for women’s health initiatives.

Since then, the foundation has raised more than $500,000 to support women’s health programs, culminating in the opening of the Rosetta Boyce Kyles Health Pavilion in 2016. The facility continues to provide care for women throughout the region.
