Jhené Aiko has unveiled the cover art and release date for her highly-anticipated debut. Souled Out will arrive on September 9th via Artium Records/Def Jam. The cover of Aiko’s artwork displays the heavens parting as the R&B singer hovers up from the sea into the sky.

The album follows her 2011 mixtape Sailing Soul(s) and 2013 EP Sail Out, which spawned the hit single “The Worst” and collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, and Vince Staples.

The songstress teased us with a new album leak last month, “Pressure”, and ever since her fans have been waiting on any sort of update when it comes to the album. Although it was reported in June that the album was slated to drop on August 25th, it looks like that date has not stuck, and Def Jam has announced a new release date alongside the official album artwork today.

“Before the album, I’m going to be putting out more visuals from the EP,” she says. Her upcoming album will include her new singles, ‘The Pressure,’ ‘To Love & Die,’ which features Cocaine 80s,’ and ‘Spotless Mind’ — a track she performed at Coachella. On the production end, it’ll feature the expertise of No I.D., Key Wane, Fisticuffs, James Fauntleroy and Dot Da Genius. Her daughter Maiko will also be a featured voice on ‘Promises.’

Along with Aiko’s album release, she’s scheduled to appear on The Weeknd’s “King of the Fall” tour with ScHoolboy Q, which kicks off at the Barclays Center on September 19.
