Joel Embiid Drops a 70-piece, Sets New Franchise Record

Dominance.

If we were to only use just one word to describe Joel Embiid in his performance last night against the San Antonio Spurs, it would be that one. The Philadelphia 76ers’ star center put on a stellar clinic last night, dropping a franchise-record-setting 70 points!

The jaw-dropping milestone surpassed Wilt Chamberlain’s previous record of 68. It also put Embiid on the Top 10 all-time list for most points in a game in NBA history. And that’s no easy feat.

“Obviously, Wilt accomplished a lot of things. To be in the same conversation is pretty cool.. it was just a great night. Had it going. They just kept giving me the ball and I just finished it.” – Joel Embiid

In total, Embiid attempted 41 shots from the field, connecting on 24 shots, including a jumper from long-range. He was also nearly perfect from the free throw line, making 21 of 23, and finishing with 18 massive rebounds. His overall stat line was craazzzyyyyy, needless to say. Even Kevin Durant couldn’t believe it.
