On Friday, Rapper Kendrick Lamar and his fiance, Whitney Alford, welcomed a baby girl.
The Grammy-winner never announced his fiance’s pregnancy, as he is well-known for barely speaking on his personal life.
During an interview with Billboard back in 2015, Lamar gushed about his long-term girlfriend. He stated, “I wouldn’t even call her my girl. That’s my best friend. I don’t even like the term that society has put in the world as far as being a companion — she’s somebody I can tell my fears too.”
While appearing on the ‘Breakfast Club’ radio show later that year, he confirmed their engagement.
“I’m loyal to the soil. At the end of the day, you always want to have real people around you, period —whether male or female” Lamar said.
The iconic rapper and his childhood sweetheart turned fiance met while they both were students at Centennial High School in Compton.
Alford is a California State University- Long Beach graduate, receiving a degree in Accounting. She is now a California-based make-up artist and a licensed stylist.
