#MondayMotivation: We’re Ballin4Peace!

Ballin4Peace

A few years ago, I met the founder of Ballin4Peace, Haron “H” Hargrave. A basketball player turned non-profit founder, “H” fuses his love for the game with his passion for community and unity. Ballin4Peace holds a strong belief in the idea that basketball can be a powerful tool to help promote peace and unity. If that isn’t motivational enough, then I’m not sure what is!

“Ballin4Peace is dedicated to using the power of basketball to foster peace and unity in communities around the world. We host tournaments, clinics, and other events that bring people together and promote understanding, respect, and cooperation.”

Last Saturday, Ballin4Peace hosted its annual Celebrity Charity Game at Lehman College in The Bronx. In an ongoing effort to further their cause and outreach to the youth, as well as the inner-city communities, the organization took over The APEX Center on campus for a day of basketball. The line-up for the eventful and impactful day included a youth game, a three-point contest, a slam dunk contest, and the highly anticipated celebrity basketball game.

“Each year this event becomes more special than the one before, and this year will be no different. None of this would be possible without Lehman College and the chance to make a difference in The Bronx, across New York, and in our own communities.” – Haron Hargrave

This year’s annual charity game followed the success of 2022’s events which included a “Road to Peace” East Coast tour. Check out Maria Myraine’s recap of this year’s festivities below, including a special guest appearance by the living legend herself, Whoopi Goldberg
