Rian Wyld will take the stage Saturday, Oct. 18, during the Third Annual Día de los Muertos Celebración on Pratt Street in downtown Hartford. The event runs from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is free to the public.
The celebration, powered by Helena’s Casita, The Gentle Bull Shop, griefsense, and Hasta Luego Friend, marks the official start of Hartford’s Día de Muertos season. Organizers describe it as a community gathering that honors loved ones through art, culture, and remembrance.
Wyld, an independent artist, producer, and lyricist, blends elements of soul, hip-hop, and storytelling in her work. Performing under her stage name, Wyld draws inspiration from personal loss, including the death of her brother, Ryan, in 2014. Her catalog includes viral tracks such as “Comments” and “Hold On,” which features Tish Tunes.
Saturday’s event will feature live performances, interactive art and altar-making, a community ofrenda, and a discussion panel on grief and healing. Families are invited to take part in the activities throughout the day.
The Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, tradition celebrates the memory of those who have died through music, food, and art. Hartford’s version combines cultural expression with a message of community connection and healing.
Wyld’s performance time has not been released, but organizers encourage attendees to arrive early for live music and cultural programming.
