Maybach Music Group member Meek Mill was arrested and is facing up to 6 months behind bars after violating his probation that was set on a 2009 drug and gun case.

Over the weekend, MMG head Rick Ross expressed his thoughts on the situation.

“I created MMG years ago, my desire was to create a space where the most talented artists in the world could be nurtured and supported,” he said in the statement.

“With that came a commitment. I vowed to support these artists, through the good and the bad. Every individual signed to MMG is not just an artist, they are my FAMILY. And with family you ride, or you die. Yesterday, my brother, Meek Mill ran into some unfortunate legal issues. It happens. However, his team, our team, will continue to execute Meek’s plan as close to schedule as possible. His album is coming. We ask that the fans and the media continue to support him and his music during this time. He’ll be home soon. ‘Dreams Are Worth More Than Money’, and family is worth more than Everything. MMG FOR LIFE.” (RapBasement)

According to reports, Meek Mill could possibly be spending the rest of 2014 behind bars. Numbers of reasons for his detainment include a recent photo of him with possession of a gun.

Mill, 27, said his rising career in hip hop has supported him, his mother, sister and son and other friends and placed his monthly expenses at $80,000 to $90,000.

“It took me 15 years to get here and this will be extremely damaging to my life,” Mill told the judge.

Mill’s recent incarceration has brought forth a #FreeMeekMill campaign on social media with fans petitioning for his release.

Ross says he’ll continue to support Mill through his ongoing legal troubles.
