The first trailer is out for “Gamechangers: Mother/Athlete,” a documentary that shows how top women’s basketball players balance their careers with motherhood. The film will arrive on Roku on October 2nd.
Directed by Christine Turner, the film centers on former and current WNBA players Sheryl Swoopes, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Bria Hartley, Natalie Achonwa, and Allison Feaster. Through behind-the-scenes access and personal accounts, the documentary examines how elite athletes have approached family planning and their return to professional basketball.
“Gamechangers: Mother/Athlete” explores the practical and emotional realities facing athletes who become mothers while competing at the highest level of the sport. The film will look at the challenges of timing pregnancies around a professional basketball season, protecting and preserving player contracts, and rebuilding toward All-Star-level performance after childbirth.
Swoopes, a Hall of Fame player and one of the WNBA’s foundational stars, joins Diggins-Smith, Hartley, Achonwa, and Feaster in sharing firsthand perspectives on the choices, setbacks, and accomplishments that shaped their experiences as mothers and athletes.
Erin Leyden and Terminal B TV are producing in association with Motion Entertainment, a WPP Media company. Tom Forman, David Metzler, Adam Neuhaus, and Chet Fenster serve as executive producers for Motion Entertainment, while Sean Nugent is co-executive producer.
