Urban Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Dakari Eli has curated a series of spectacular images for the publication’s first visual art issue.

“The decision to curate an issue that is art driven was inspired not only by the immense talent that we have been seeing across social media platforms, but by the need to create a media outlet within our culture that will further inspire others to delve into their creative abilities and tell our stories.”

With the breathtaking cover art from master photographer Shas Smith, the special edition includes a wide range of artwork from renowned talent including Kalin Devone, Stina Aleah, Shas Smith, C.L. Wilson, Lavett Ballard, and Bianca Nguema.

Other features include exceptional violinist Joy Black and images from The Roots’ jaw dropping performance at BRIC’s Celebrate Brooklyn! festival.

“We are excited to offer our readership an issue that will provide social insight and positive influence through visual stimulation. It is our responsibility to motivate our people by showing each other there is nothing that we cannot achieve,” Dakari Eli explains.
