Nike & The NBA Debut “Air Time” Telecast

This past Tuesday, Nike sent an invite to be part of their collaborative debut of “Air Time;” a new alternate game telecast on the NBA app. Taking place at Nike NYHQ, media personnel and influencers, alike, were gifted Nike City Edition team merchandise ahead of the live telecast. Despite being in New York City, interestingly enough, the majority of the live audience was cheering for the Celtics, donning Jayson Tatum’s jersey.

Timed to the Boston Celtics vs. Chicago Bulls In-Season Tournament game, the live studio audience brought the energy for the telecast’s live panel featuring NBA 2K TV host, Alexis Morgan, podcaster, Kenny Beecham, and SNKRS host, Jamierson Green

Special guests were featured remotely on the large screen throughout the evening to give commentary on their favorite City Edition jerseys, the Celtics/Bulls game, as well as the inaugural in-season tournament. Dawn Staley and Vince Carter dialed into the telecast, providing another dimension of commentary.

As for the game, itself, the Boston Celtics continue to be one of the In-Season Tournament favorites as they secured a win to advance. There was, however, a moment in the game where the point-differential rules caused a bit of controversy.
