A&R Report: Tori Helene

Tori Helene is dedicated to her craft and it shows in everything she does. Whether it’s her vocal performance or the way lyrics relate to everyday life, one thing is certain — you’re going to love her music.

When did you start performing?
I started performing when I was 10 years old. I would sign up for local talent shows and I always performed in my school and church choir.

Name some other artists who have inspired or influenced you?
I’ve had a few inspirations throughout my life but my biggest one is Beyonce. I would spend hours watching concert DVDs when I was a child. I just love her voice, confidence and her performance. She’s a legend for sure. More inspirations of mine are Christina Aguilera, Stevie Wonder, and Jojo.

How would you describe your style?
My style is very versatile. I can be a little edgy but also sensual and feminine. My music has an r&b vibe but also I like to add hip hop/pop influences. My writing is very blunt and I never hold back. I’m a free spirit so my music definitely shows that.

What separates you from other artists?
I think what separates me from other artists is my passion. When I make music, you can feel the passion just in my lyrics and the melody.

What advice would you offer other aspiring artists?
Do your research. Learn about the business as well as your craft. Also, I would say to never give up. It can be so easy to get discouraged on this journey but it’s important to stay consistent and to keep going.
