It appears Kelis’ complaints about Beyoncé including an interpolation from the former’s hit record “Milkshake” has been received.
According to reports, the music superstar has updated her latest album Renaissance and removed the “sample” to address Kelis’ concerns.
This concession was allegedly being made, despite Kelis not owning any rights to the original song, where she only credited as a performer.
Kelis has accused The Neptunes, her rumored ex-boyfriend Pharrell Williams and his musical partner Chad Hugo, of tricking her into signing away her publishing and songwriting credits.
As it currently stands, her permission was never legally required for usage of the material.
Neither Beyoncé or the members of The Neptunes have commented on Kelis or the removal of the sample.
