NFL free agent Cam Newton was caught in the middle of a brawl at what appeared to be a football game in Atlanta. In a video that is now circulating rapidly on social media, Newton can be seen amongst a group of men swinging at him. He appears to hold off on returning the punches that try to come his way. After looking even more closely, another man in a white t-shirt is seen throwing a punch towards Newton that lands on somebody else.
In the scuffle, Newton was able to pry off his attackers, including a police officer who was called to the scene. Even with the video footage, it’s still unclear as to how things escalated or what role Newton even played in the scuffle. The only detail that has emerged thus far is that the men he was fighting off were members of a participating team, TSP (Top Shelf Performance).
As for Newton, he was on location in the first place because his sports organization, C1N, was taking part in the 7-on-7 tournament at the location.
