The sucker punch heard around the world.
Or at least seen, thanks to social media. Days after the video of the incident surfaced online, Draymond’s mom, Mary Cabers-Green, put her Twitter fingers to work. Shortly after, however, she deactivated her account.
“They can get beyond this. Anything is fixable! Everything isn’t always what you think you see!” she wrote. After seeing the altercation, can Green and Poole truly patch their relationship? She continued on her rant, claiming “it wasn’t a sucker punch.”
“Dray didn’t aggressively go to Poole. His hands were down. Man to Man you go over to talk (to ask what’s up, what you say)! Got shoved and reacted.. End of story!”
Sounds like mama is trying to justify her son’s actions which were truly uncalled for – but then again, in the world of sports, teammate or not, things do get heated. Shall we play old VHS tapes from the NBA’s 1990s era?
Anyways, Ms. Babers-Green knew that she was stirring up the pot with her Tweets. Before completely deactivating, her last set of words was: “Enjoy Twitter – I’ll just leave the chirping for the birds and let’s tweet! I’m going to deactivate this app so no one can say what I think or believe! I hope it can work itself out for the betterment of the Dubs!”
Well, sh*t, we hope so too mama. Moments after the footage was leaked, Draymond announced plans to step away from the team. This, too, however, fueled rumors that he has been trying to make a move to the Lakers. Was this all a part of his grand scheme? We’re not quite sure but his actions have truly opened up a can of worms.
We shall see what his future holds soon enough.
