DucatiDC and Dorrough Release First-Ever Juneteenth Anthem Featuring Pimp C

Texas artists David “DucatiDC” Chris and platinum-selling rapper Dorrough released the first official Juneteenth music anthem on June 16, featuring a rare posthumous freestyle from the late Pimp C of UGK. The track blends southern hip hop styles with vocals by LāLowe and is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, and other digital platforms.

A music video for the anthem will premiere on June 19, the national holiday marking the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Directed by Justin Livingston and filmed in an XR studio, the video includes appearances by actor Jason Mitchell, radio host Lady Jade, and LāLowe. It will debut exclusively on DucatiDC’s YouTube channel, which also marks his birthday.

The deluxe version of the track includes personal stories from DucatiDC, including memories of his friendship with Pimp C, his love for the Dallas Cowboys, and how the song was created. Pimp C’s freestyle was originally recorded for DucatiDC’s earlier track “Green Boy” with Starving Artists.

“This isn’t just a record—it’s a cultural stamp,” said DucatiDC. “We’re honoring where we came from, and celebrating the freedom we have through music, unity, and truth.”

A public release party—Juneteenth Music & DucatiDC Surf Day Birthday Party—is scheduled for Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Good Surf317 in Dallas. The event will feature DJs, media, fans, and community members.
