When did you start performing?
I started performing when I was about 17 years old in high school. Sometimes my high school would hold open mics so students could show off their talents. Most of the time the performers were either singers or musician players. A lot of the times I was the only artist was performing hip-hop music. Performing since then has always been something that I love to do.
Name some of the artists who have inspired or influenced you?
Artists like Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Meek Mill and Jhene Aiko have inspired me to write more and to get more in depth into my music as far as lyrical content. Usually, I listen to a lot of new music from unsigned artists and I would consider myself a “SoundCloud Head”. Many artists such as Tre Capital, Mick Jenkins, Ravyn Lanae, River Tiber, and even Tory Lanez were all unsigned artists who had major influence on SoundCloud and to see them aspiring and thrive in their careers has inspired me to do the same.
How would you describe your style?
This is kind of a tough question because my sound, to me, is very different. I would say my style is like “Trap Soul” or “Vibe Music”. I try to make music that comes from a deep place and make it resonate with the audiences; while spitting over Atlanta/Toronto style Trap beats. Depending on my mood or subject or even the beat, my writing style may change, so I’m pretty versatile.
What separates you from other artists?
What separates me from other artists is my content as well as delivery. For example, my vocals and the way I deliver them on a track is so different other artists. I like to think of my voice as instrument itself, so often times I’ll change my vocal style depending on the track in order to make it more impactful and accentuate the parts I want listeners to vibe with.
Name some of the major artists you have performed with?
Mir Fontane and Ish Williams are two major artists that I have performed with over the course of my music career. Mir Fontane is a childhood friend, from our City of Camden, NJ, who recently signed with 300 entertainment and is one of the founding members of a South Jersey collective known as $outh$ide or $$ for short. Ish Williams is another artist who has been making his way into the music industry by force; both are actively on many major hip-hop publications. Getting to perform with the both of them at many events including Mir Fontane’s “Black Balloon Tour” was inspirational for me. I hope to work with them more often.
Do you have any major offers on the table?
No offers at the present moment, but I’m dropping a project called “Carmina Gadelica” in the next few months. Hopefully I will be able to generate a nice following from the project so that the possibility of offers would be even remotely possible. For now I’m focused on trying make sure the music is where it needs to be as well as the work ethic
