Nelly and Ashanti are giving viewers another look inside their lives as partners, parents, and music stars when “Nelly and Ashanti: We Belong Together” returns for its second season.
All eight episodes of the new season will premiere Thursday, Nov. 19.
The series follows the couple as they balance family life with careers that continue to keep them in the public eye. This season also focuses on how both artists are taking greater control of their futures while protecting the legacies they have built throughout their careers.
Ashanti continues adjusting to motherhood while maintaining a demanding performance schedule. Her life takes her between St. Louis and New York City as she works on new music, spends time with longtime friends, and focuses on one of the biggest projects of her career: re-recording her debut album in an effort to retain ownership of her masters.
The season also follows Ashanti into the studio as she collaborates with other artists while continuing to manage the responsibilities that come with raising a family.
Nelly, meanwhile, begins thinking more seriously about the physical demands of years spent touring and performing. As he considers what the next stage of his career could look like, an unexpected loss within the family brings renewed attention to the importance of relationships, time, and the people closest to him.
Together, Nelly and Ashanti are raising their son while relying on the family members and friends who make up their support system. Their conversations about parenting, work, health, and the future become central parts of the new season.
The series presents their relationship as one that continues to evolve as they decide what they want their lives and careers to look like moving forward. Rather than simply revisiting their history together, the couple is focused on creating something new while maintaining control over their personal and professional paths.
