Nicki Minaj is unarguably the most popular female rapper out right now. She’s a role model to women and little girls. However, her latest spotlight in the media is not something to be proud of. Recently she found herself being the center of attention after bailing her brother Jelani Maraj out of jail on a $100,000 bond.
According to reports, 37-year-old Maraj is accused of raping a child several times between the months of April and November of this year. Some of us have mixed emotions about the popular rapper stepping in to help her brother out.
His crime is serious. This isn’t some gun or possession of drugs charge. It involves a child who is still trying to figure their way out in life. It involves a child whose life has been forever ruined because a grown man decided to perform sexual acts that the child does not fully comprehend.
Just think about your children. Would you want to see someone hurt them in any kind of manner? If Maraj really did molest this child, he took away the child’s innocence and left that child to forever struggle with that painful memory.
On the other hand that is Nicki Minaj’s brother. She is supposed to be there for him no matter what; if he’s having money problems, getting married for the 5th time, committing armed robbery, committing murder, or even molesting a child.
We should all be there in our family’s time of need. Wouldn’t you want your siblings by your side if you did something wrong?
I have two brothers. If that was one of them I wouldn’t be happy. I would have thoughts of killing them, but I would still be by their side. Unlike Nicki, I would struggle to hide my anger from the public.
