Will Lebron James Retire From The NBA?

Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ season-ending loss in the Western Conference Finals, Lebron James said he’s “unsure” of continuing his career. The devastating loss marked the end of James’ 20th season in the NBA. He remains to be the only star player from the 2003 Draft class – which included Carmelo Anthony (who recently announced his retirement), Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh.

When asked by reporters about his future in LA, and his basketball career, overall, 38-year-old James said he has “a lot to think about.” While many speculate that he’ll continue, at least until he gets a chance to play in the League with his son, Bronny, some think his retirement is inevitable this off-season.

Two decades in the NBA is without a doubt a feat on its own, but for Lebron James, these twenty years come with rings, trophies, MVP awards, and many other accolades. To see his historic career come to an end would not only be a sad moment for fans, but it would also come as a surprise. If you recall, LeBron signed a two-year extension with the Lakers last Summer, which should mean he’s suiting up for the 2023-24 season. And not to mention a player option for the following year.

It’s ultimately LeBron’s choice, however, as we all await his final word.
