Seattle artist Yonny has released a new single, “New Ebonics,” a genre-crossing track that blends jazz, soul, funk, and hip-hop.
Released through Free Lunch Records and Warner Records, the song showcases Yonny’s mix of singing and rap, with layered instrumentation supporting shifting melodies and cadences.
According to a release, “New Ebonics” explores themes tied to Black expression, identity, ambition, and survival.
The accompanying music video was filmed across Seattle and features Yonny moving through neighborhoods and landmarks that helped shape his artistic journey.
