It’s been 21 years since OJ Simpson was found not guilty of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and a waiter by the name of Ronald Lyle Goldman. However, he still remains one of the most talked about people because of the case. Currently he’s in the news because of a new television series called American Crime Story and a knife that a retired cop was given years ago.
In it’s first season, American Crime Story is all about the O.J. Simpson case. The show has taken the case and is revealing behind the scenes details of what was going on with everyone. You see O.J. Simpson, played by Cuba Gooding Jr., being very depressed but at the same time looking very guilty of the crime. However, for entertainment the Kardashian children are mentioned several times throughout the show. Their deceased father, Robert Kardashian who is played by David Schwimmer, was one of the lawyers.
The show also gives a look at how wealthy and unattached from the real world O.J. really was. The case divided whites and blacks. White people were positive that O.J was guilty while black people did not want to see a wealthy Black man go to prison for murdering two white people. The show makes it seem as if O.J. didn’t care about the support of his fans. In one instance during the police chase fans rush toward the car with posters showing their support and he just wants them to back away. Another instance is the fact that during the police chase he’s not even driving the car. He’s so wealthy that he’s sitting in the backseat with a gun to his head while someone drives him.
As interesting as the television show is by itself, the popularity of it has made Los Angeles police add new evidence to the case. The rumor is a construction worker was doing work on O.J.’s property over a decade ago and found a knife in the backyard. He picked the knife up and gave it to an off-duty cop. That cop then framed the knife for his on personal keeping until recently after he decided to retire. Now the police have decided to look at the knife as new evidence in the case even though O.J. cannot be retried.
You have to admit O.J. Simpson has lived a very entertaining life since retiring from football. He was on trial for murder, sued by the family of his murdered ex-wife, wrote a book hinting that he may have actually committed the crime, and then went to prison in 2008 for stealing his own sports memorabilia.
