Apple TV+ has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming sci-fi thriller “Dark Matter,” featuring Joel Edgerton alongside Academy Award® winner Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi, and Oakes Fegley. Adapted from the bestselling book by Blake Crouch, the nine-episode Apple Original series is set to premiere globally on May 8, with the first two episodes launching on Apple TV+, followed by weekly releases every Wednesday through June 26, 2024.
Considered one of the standout sci-fi novels of the decade, “Dark Matter” delves into the concept of the road not taken. The series centers around Jason Dessen (portrayed by Edgerton), a physicist, professor, and devoted family man. His life takes a drastic turn one evening in Chicago when he is abducted into an alternate version of his reality. What begins as curiosity swiftly transforms into a nightmare as he grapples with the bewildering array of lives he could have led. Trapped in a labyrinth of alternate realities, Jason embarks on a perilous quest to reunite with his true family and confront the most formidable adversary of all: himself.
