Chris Pratt is returning to the battlefield.
Prime Video released the official trailer for Season 2 of “The Terminal List” on Thursday, giving viewers a new look at James Reece’s next mission ahead of the show’s Oct. 21 return. All eight episodes will arrive on Prime Video the same day.
The new season is based on “True Believer,” the second novel in Jack Carr’s James Reece book series. Pratt returns as Reece, a Navy SEAL commander who finds himself pulled into another conflict after completing the revenge mission that drove the first season.
This time, the story moves beyond the psychological revenge thriller format of Season 1 and into international espionage.
After the CIA corners Reece, he is given an opportunity to clear his name by stopping a terrorist organization that has recruited one of his former allies. His mission takes him across several regions as he uncovers a conspiracy stretching from Moscow to CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia, with connections to his own family history.
The trailer previews gun battles, covert operations, military missions, and the growing uncertainty surrounding the people Reece can trust.
Pratt said the new season has a connection to the military community represented throughout the franchise.
“This season is a love letter to the special operations community,” Pratt said. “I’m incredibly proud of the journey we went on and what we were able to put on screen.”
Tom Hopper and Constance Wu return alongside Pratt, while Gabriel Luna and Olga Kurylenko are among the additions to the cast.
“The Terminal List” first premiered in 2022, following Reece as he investigated the deaths of members of his Navy SEAL platoon and uncovered a conspiracy tied to the military.
The franchise has since expanded with “The Terminal List: Dark Wolf,” a prequel centered on Taylor Kitsch’s Ben Edwards.
Season 2 brings the focus back to Reece while expanding the story far beyond the conflict that launched the series.
