It’s been a hectic day, thus far, in the world of sports news. Earlier today, TMZ reported that 2022 NBA All-Star, Ja Morant, was named in a lawsuit that was filed in Shelby County, Tennessee. The suit, filed last Fall, is in connection to an incident where a 17-year-old was punched allegedly by Ja Morant during a pick-up game.

The actual incident is said to have occurred back in July at Morant’s home in Tennessee. The accuser remains unidentified, due to his age, and alleged that he and Mordant engaged in an argument during a pick-up game where things shortly escalated. The teenager claims that he tossed the ball to Morant, forcibly, accidentally striking the Memphis Grizzlies star.

In response, Morant approached the teen and punched him, knocking him down to the ground. The allegations go even further, as he claims that Morant continued to punch him while he was down.

TMZ later cited court and police documents that show Morant allegedly told first responders that he was acting in self-defense. He also told police that the 17-year-old was threatening him immediately. The reports also state that Morant’s friend is also connected to the allegations.
