Following recent storm relief efforts in northwestern Indiana, Houston rapper and community activist Trae Tha Truth returns to music with “Gangsta Party With God,” a collaboration featuring Los Angeles artist Kalan.FrFr and Sacramento rapper Mozzy.
The song and video serve as the first release from Trae Tha Truth and Mozzy’s forthcoming collaborative album, due Sept. 25. The project also marks Trae’s first album release since 2025’s “Angel.”
“Gangsta Party With God” focuses on faith, perseverance, and authenticity, examining what it means to keep God close while navigating adversity, success, and the pressures of street life.
Kalan.FrFr opens the track with melodic vocals encouraging listeners to stay focused on their own path rather than allowing people who tried to block their progress to shape their future.
Trae follows with a forceful verse centered on responsibility and the next generation. Reflecting on his own journey, he encourages young people to break harmful cycles and seek opportunities beyond the streets. He also acknowledges the blessing of turning his experiences and music into a career.
Mozzy brings his own perspective to the collaboration, questioning authenticity in a culture often influenced by appearances and material possessions. His verse challenges listeners to look beyond what others display and remain grounded in who they are.
Directed and edited by Ronnie Lewis, the Los Angeles-shot visual places the three artists in dark alleyways and city streets, matching the record’s themes of survival, faith, and perseverance.
The release follows Trae’s continued community work, including relief efforts for people affected by severe weather and other emergencies.
“Gangsta Party With God” offers the first look at Trae Tha Truth and Mozzy’s upcoming joint project, combining street-rooted storytelling with messages of faith, resilience, and personal accountability.
