First Trailer for ‘Clayface’ Unveils DC Studios’ Horror Take on Gotham Villain

DC Studios has released the first trailer for “Clayface,” offering audiences their first look at the upcoming horror thriller centered on one of Gotham’s most enduring villains.

The trailer introduces Tom Rhys Harries as Matt Hagen, whose journey from a Gotham street kid to a Hollywood leading man is shattered after a local crime boss leaves him horribly disfigured. Desperate to reclaim his life, Hagen undergoes an experimental treatment that restores his appearance but fractures his grip on reality, setting him on a violent quest for revenge.

The film also stars Naomi Ackie, David Dencik, Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, Nancy Carroll, and Joshua James.

James Watkins directed the film from a screenplay by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, based on a story by Flanagan and characters from DC. The producing team includes Matt Reeves, Lynn Harris, James Gunn, and Peter Safran, with Michael E. Uslan, Chantal Nong Vo, Lars P. Winther, Rafi Crohn, and Paul Ritchie serving as executive producers.

The creative team includes cinematographer Rob Hardy, production designer James Price, editor Jon Harris, costume designer Keith Madden, and composer Volker Bertelmann.

Presented by DC Studios as a 6th & Idaho Production and a James Watkins film, “Clayface” will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

The film is scheduled for an international theatrical rollout beginning Oct. 21, 2026, followed by its North American release on Oct. 23, 2026.

The first trailer is now available on Warner Bros. Pictures’ official social media channels and YouTube. Official film accounts can be found on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok at @ClayfaceMovie, and on X at @ClayfaceMovieDC.
