R&B singer-songwriter UMI has released a new single, “HARD TRUTHS,” featuring four-time Grammy nominee 6LACK. The track marks her first release under Epic Records, following her recent signing with the label.
The song pairs UMI’s smooth vocals with 6LACK’s sharp delivery in a duet exploring self-awareness, the emptiness of materialism and the value of genuine relationships. The release is accompanied by a music video directed by Sahra Zadat.
“‘HARD TRUTHS’ delves into the contrast between appearances and internal realities,” UMI said in a statement.
Epic Records President Ezekiel Lewis praised UMI’s sound, calling it “peaceful and electrifying,” and said the label is committed to supporting her vision.
